Consider a Caribbean Summer Vacation!

Are you thinking about a vacation in the summer and fall months? Consider a Caribbean vacation.

One of the reasons persons are skeptical about a summer Caribbean vacation is the fear of hurricanes. Truth is, only a few islands are ever affected by hurricanes in any one year. Islands such as Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba and Curacao, are generally not hit by any hurricanes since they are outside the hurricane belt. Furthermore it is evident that an earthquake, volcanic eruption or even a mud slide can occur at anytime, anywhere in the world. The reasons for a Caribbean summer vacation outway the negatives and include:

Music Festivals and Carnivals; The islands provide some of the most captivating venues to listen to world renown international artists. Depending on time of day, you will be privy to sunny skies, ocean views, star filled skies and cool breezes while enjoying performaces from your favorite artists. Popular music festivals include the St Lucia Jazz Festival, Barbados Gospelfest , the Aruba Music Festival in May, the Ocho Rios Jazz Festival, the Bonaire Jazz Festival, St Kitts Music Festival and Grenada's Spice Jazz Festival in June. If you are looking for music a little later in the year, there is Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica in July and Dominica's World Creole Music Festival in October. Many islands have their Carnivals in the summer. Carnival is a time for colorful costumes and infectious music. In July, it is Carnival time on St Vincent, St Lucia and Barbados, while Antigua's carnival is in August.

Outdoor Adventures; Hiking, Scuba Diving, snorkeling, biking, kayaking are just some of the activities. There are boiling lakes, hot springs, mountains to climb and numerous beaches and waterfalls to visit. The prime months for turtle nesting are May to September. You can see Giant Leatherback turtles, some weighing as much as 1,000 pounds, along with Hawksbill and Green turtles visit these sandy shores. You can also go whale watching on islands like Dominica. Another great activity is the regattas.

Lowest Prices on Accommodation and Travel; This is the time of the lowest prices at hotels. Airlines also offer special reduced airfares, so you can have a vacation on a budget. Plus it may be the most convenient time to get vacation from work, when everyone else is returning from their winter vacation.

Caribbean cuisine; Like the infectious free spirit of the islanders, the Caribbean cuisine is on display whether you go to the islands in winter, spring, summer or fall. The bonus is the abundance of tropical fruits such as mangoes in the summer months - who would want to miss that?

For your summer vacation we submit that the Caribbean rivals many other destinations.
